About the Artist

Originally from Croydon, Julie Brenan has been recognised as one of Britain's premier Canine Artists for nearly 30 years.

In 1979 and for the next 18 years, she was commissioned by Pedigree Pet Foods to paint the Crufts Supreme Champion. This led to several appearances on both regional and national television as well as many commissions from all over the world.

During the 1980s, Julie was invited to Kensington Palace to paint Prince Michael of Kent with his labrador, "Sponge". In 1985 she was commissioned by Battersea Dogs Home to paint a work for auction to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Home.

The 1990s saw Julie establish herself as a major international artist. Her first overseas exhibition was in Santa Fe, New Mexico with a further exhibition at the Dog Museum in St Louis, Missouri in 1990. The same year brought another American commission, this time from Kentucky, to portray "Forego" - record six times winner of the Gold Eclipse award. Also during the 1990s, Julie was invited to exhibit at the Royal Dog Show in Toronto, at the Westminster Dog Show in Madison Square Gardens, New York and at the World Dog Show in Helsinki.

In early 2001, Julie moved to rural Carmarthenshire in Wales and her work continues to be in great demand.
